The Vampire Diaries is NOT True Blood or Twilight
“It’s not Twilight, it’s not True Blood,” Williamson told television critics during CW’s day of the summer network briefings.
And as the series heads further into the season, the tragic young heroine becomes the object of desire for two vampire brothers–one good, one evil–who are at war for her soul and for the souls of her friends, family and all the residents of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.
“You meet some dark, mysterious, gorgeous guy, and you want to believe that there’s so much going on behind those eyes – so much wisdom, so much soul and experience. In real life, that hardly ever happens. You just don’t get that. But with vampires, you do,” executive producer Julie Plec said, adding another reason why The Vampire Diaries is sure to pique the interest of young women.

when will season
I don’t see why people always feel the need to compare vampires shows/films. Really the only similarity is the vampires. XD Haha.
I’m excited for The Vampire Diaries. I’m also a big fan of True Blood and a Twilight fan. In fact I like most vampires.
I do hope this show makes it to the second season. I believe they can make a lot happen with it, and I’d like to see how things progress.

I’m honestly a bit disappointed with Vampire Diaries…
They’ve made a lot of changes from the original book.
For one: Elena was supposed to be a blond haired blue eyed girl. Not brown haired brown eyed…
A bit iffy on if I’ll watch it or not. If I remember to, that is.
i was a bit annoyed on what they changed too. it wasnt just the hair and eyes, but they changed her friends too, key people in the books!! but it wont stop my from watching vampire love stories!! lovee ittt! ever since i was like 12 n obsessed wit Buffy and Angel that whole forbidden love thing is great!
Don’t even know what came first but maybe she’s a brunette because they didn’t want any comparison to Sookie? Two blonde leading ladies…nahhh

I love all vampire stuff that is not horror cause I hate terror.
All this three can have some frightening moments but are not terrifying at all. The suspense is such a thrill. It gives a chill down on our spine!
I read only the Twilight Saga and saw the film… I follow all things about it.
About the other series I will see them and then I will read the books,when i could buy them, I´m not in a rush because they change a lot of things.
I love all this ones, but I have to confess that Stephenie Meyer as opened again this vampire market scenery!
I tottally aggree. They all are completly diffrent, in every way. And i think the Vampire Diaries will kick A$$, and so does TB!!! But twilight is just a littel to wierd for me.
Ultimately, Both Twilight and True Blood are about how love can change and transform a person. How love can come over you like a virus and take control of your every thought and desire. Its also I believe about how unconditional love and acceptance can make a person choose to be with some1 they love even if sacrifices have to be made.
Bella knows Edward is a vampire a bloodsucker She knows at Any moment he could attack her and drink her blood Yet she still desires him and her love for him grows.
The Same is true i believe of True Blood….Sookie knows Bill is a bloodsucking monster Yet she is strangely attracted to him.
I dont know if Vampire Diaries has this true love vibe through it. I’ve never read the books.

the vampire diaries we published in 1991 by one of the best writers L.Jane.smith.all five books are remarkable.no offense to Stephanie Meyer for writing twilight which was published 2003(twilight saga? mm) but if you are a lover of vampire novels you will see that the books and movie have similarities. both Jane and Stephanie are writing each book from each characters’ point of view and what that caught my eye was remarkable cause both Jane smith and Stephanie Meyer are actually coming out with their own midnights lol.Stephanie’s midnight sun and Jane’s midnight not yet published??well lets just see how the writers will marvel their audiences.I’m also fond of Anne rice who made her novels really come to life.one of her creations were the vampire chronicles:interview with the vampire;vampire lestat and queen of the damned which were published between 1976 to 1988. in the past century many novels,books and movies were made close to those writers but never made its popularity.unlike the other writers Stephanie Meyer wrote her novels to more inspire teens and individuals who are tired of reading lame novels.so she must have placed herself in her kids shoes.saw them as how they would want to read a novel. not vile but natural and sane.so for that i give her credit. but i love Jane smith for her inspiration in writing the vampire diaries.
