Joshua Jackson has revealed that he turned down the chance to guest star in The Vampire Diaries.

The Fringe star revealed that he is still close to the show’s executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, who also worked on Dawson’s Creek. He admitted that during a meeting at Comic Con the option of him appearing on the vampire drama was discussed.

“We actually talked about it while we were there,” Jackson told E! Online. “It turns out he’s not making a comedy with The Vampire Diaries and I think it would be more inside baseball comedy if I popped up.”

Jackson laughed that he wouldn’t be adverse to “a little light-hearted bloodsucking”, but added: “I don’t know. They’re all too handsome.”
